If you want to refine your skills understanding written and spoken Arabic in a media context, then this is the course for you! This course brings your Arabic level to a standard that will enable you to understand articles about topics such as elections, conflicts and terrorism. This is the second in a series of three courses that cover the most discussed topics in the Arabic media.
Extra attention will be given to grammatical features and reading strategies, such as the passive form, constructions with the verbal noun, and noticing political bias in a text. Vocabulary and strategies for learning new words will also play a central part in the course!
The course is an intermediate-advanced for if you already have some knowledge of Arabic grammar, but you want to push up your understanding of the Arabic language and the Arabic media.
This course covers chapters 3 and 4 of ‘Media Arabic’.
The book used for this course is Media Arabic by Alaa Elgibali.
