Lebanese Taalkeuken with Yahia

Join our Lebanese host Yahia in our Taalhuis kitchen on this spring day, and learn how to prepare a tasty Lebanese dinner full of flavours and tradition!

We will cook كبة بالصنية (kibbeh bil sanieh), balls of finely ground lean beef (or lamb) combined with bulgur and spices. These have a layer of sautéed seven-spiced coarse ground beef with onions and pine nuts and are baked to a beautiful golden brown.

This dish goes beautifully hand in hand with tabouleh, a salad that originated in the mountains of Lebanon and was an essential part of people’s diets in the Middle Ages.

The kibbeh is not vegetarian, but the salad is.

During this 2,5 hour workshop, under Yahia’s guidance, you will get your hands dirty while making your own Lebanese dinner and you’ll of course learn the necessary cooking vocabulary in Arabic while you’re on the job.

When dinner is ready we’ll open the wine bottles and set the table and enjoy this dinner while we speak as much Arabic as possible!

19:30-20:00: setting the table
20:00-22:00: let’s eat!
