Martine van Otterloo lives in Utrecht, and she has been a Dutch teacher at Taalhuis Amsterdam since the beginning of 2020. Besides Dutch, she also teaches Spanish (but not at Taalhuis). She loves teaching languages because it helps in our intercultural understanding and personal growth. Intercultural communication is one of her passions, which is why she completed her masters degree in this area. In her lessons, she finds it important to have many conversations and a lot of fun together!
Besides teaching Dutch, Martine is a speech therapist and runs a speech therapy practice – so like no other, she knows Dutch words can be very hard to pronounce. This is why she can also help students improving their Dutch pronunciation. Taalhuis is even offering a special pronunciation course so now and then! Besides languages and intercultural communication, she loves surfing, playing field hockey and music. Her favourite word: sneukelen! That means: having a snack and a glass of wine with friends and family, right before dinner.
