Hebrew (also known as Ivrit) is the ancient language of the Bible in its modernised form and is spoken by 10 million people.
Taalhuis Amsterdam offers Hebrew courses for beginners, in which you learn the language from the basics as it is spoken today. You will learn the alphabet (אלף-בית), basic vocabulary, grammar and conversational skills. Do you already speak Hebrew, but would like to learn more? Join one of the higher levels!

The schedule below is the schedule for the courses that started in September. Do you already speak some Hebrew and are you interested in joining an ongoing course, or would you like some help defining your level or do you have other questions? Please contact us at info@taalhuisamsterdam.nl or check our FAQ’s!
In January we’ll offer a new schedule again. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when it’s available!
At Taalhuis, you will be taught by experienced teachers who are native speakers of Hebrew.
Although a textbook is used during lessons, this does not mean that every Hebrew course is taught in the same way. Of course, there is also plenty of room for world news, songs and cultural phenomena.
Are you fully motivated to learn modern Hebrew (also known as ‘Ivrit’)? Most of our courses (12 weeks and 1 lesson per week) start in September, January and April.
