Where better to learn a language than in the country where it is spoken? This fall, Taalhuis travels to Napoli for a special language trip. Dive into the language and culture with us and find out why so many students fall in love with Italian and Italy.
From 2 to 6 November 2026, we will take you on an unforgettable trip to explore the stunning beauty of Napoli in the fall.
Join us for 5 days of Italian lessons and (almost) 24/7 access to your Italian teachers while you wonder through the tiny streets and this vibrant and lively city, full of sounds and contradictions.
Feel the joyful fatalism of living at the bottom of one of the most dangerous volcanoes and on one of the most iconic bays in the world. Wander through its historic centre – a beautiful maze of churches, laundry hanging on clothes lines, hidden theatres, catacombs, castles and tiny apartments (vasci), pizzerias, markets, and monuments that UNESCO has recognised as a world heritage site and that is home to some of the most famous Italian songs in the world.
Napoli was the capital of southern Italy before unification in 1861. It is at the heart of a centuries-old tradition of folk music, a city that has always been multicultural and a crossroad of cultures and trade, which have influenced its language, culinary traditions and history.
Napoli is the city that has inspired books known throughout the world, from Curzio Malaparte and Matilde Serao to Elena Ferrante’s books. It has been portrayed in the films of Vittorio De Sica, starring Sofia Loren, which sought to capture its soul; indeed, it was one of the capitals of 20th-century Italian cinema.
The renowned author, actor and theatre director Eduardo De Filippo wrote of Napoli: ‘Napoli is an open-air theatre’. The French writer Stendhal wrote, before leaving the city: ‘I am leaving. I shall not forget either Via Toledo or all the other neighbourhoods of Napoli; in my eyes it is, without comparison, the most beautiful city in the universe’.
Taalhuis invites you to discover this unique city together.
We will start the week with a welcome dinner on Sunday 1st November. From Monday to Friday you will have 3 hours of Italian language lessons in the morning. And in the afternoon there is a conversation session of 1 hour in an informal context. On Wednesday, there is an afternoon excursion during which you can further savour the cultural uniqueness of this city in southern Italy.
