Discover the Dutch countryside (13k walk)

Come and join our Dutch teacher Elianne on a walk through a beautiful autumn forest near Utrecht! Only forty minutes from Amsterdam it feels like you are on the Veluwe, the big national park in the east of the country. However, you are in the back garden of Paleis Soestdijk, where our royal family lived until 2005. From the palace, we will continue our walk ‘over de heide’, where we will keep an eye out for ‘dassenburchten’ and maybe even see a real badger. While marvelling at the autumn colours and beautiful white Charolais cows, practise your conversation skills about ‘koetjes en kalfjes’ (small talk – all levels!). About two-thirds of the way, there are a couple of cafés where we can have a drink, before ending our walk at Hollandsche Rading, the border between the provinces Noord-Holland and Utrecht.

What you should bring:
– sturdy shoes
– rain clothes
– something to eat for lunch
– a bottle of water

The walk starts Sunday 17 October at 11:00 from the train station in Baarn and finishes around 15:30 in Hollandsche Rading. Your train ticket is not included in the price, but a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate is!

Registrations are closed. See you on the next walk!!
