Join our teacher and professional cook Rana in our Taalhuis kitchen for a dive into Egyptian culture and cuisine. Learn how to prepare a traditional Egyptian dinner: محشي (maHshi: stuffed vegetables and vine leaves) and سلطة بلدي (salata baladi).
These dishes are not only part of Egyptian cuisine but also shared across a wide geography from the Balkans to the Middle East. Although the recipes differ from region to region, they all share one thing: they taste like home.
During this 2,5 hour workshop, you will get your hands dirty while making your own Egyptian meal. While you’re on the job, you’ll learn the necessary cooking vocabulary in Egyptian and some interesting stories and anecdotes about traditional Egyptian cuisine.
When the preparations are done, we’ll set the table and taste a few starters. And then it’s time to taste this Egyptian comfort food and chat about Egyptian culture, cuisine, and language.
