Join our friend and “cook for one night” Yahia in our Taalhuis kitchen for a dive into Lebanese culture and cuisine, and learn how to prepare a traditional Lebanese dinner dish: shish barak (dumplings filled with meat and cooked in a yogurt soup) and tabouleh (a rich and satisfying Lebanese salad).
Both of these dishes are part of the Lebanese tradition of family dinners where many people gather to meet and enjoy good traditional food and company.
During this 2,5 hour workshop, you will get your hands dirty while making your own Lebanese meal. While you’re on the job, you’ll learn the necessary cooking vocabulary in Lebanese and some interesting stories and anecdotes about traditional Lebanese cuisine.
When the preparations are done, we’ll have a ‘borrel’ and set the table and taste a few starters. Then it’s time to taste this Lebanese comfort food and chat about the culture, cuisine, and language of this beautiful country.
The program:
17:00 – cooking
19:30 – appetiser and setting the table
20:00 – let’s eat!
