Leen Karkout believes learning a new language brings your inner child to life, especially in Arabic. To her, Arabic is raw and can make feelings feel as transparent as glass, and this is what she wishes to gift her students.
She is from As-Suwayda, Syria and speaks the Levantine dialect. She arrived to the Netherlands at the age of 16, which showed her what learning a new language means. She brings this experience to class and compliments it with a fun, safe, atmosphere. She has a background in cultural and media studies, and she enjoys incorporating culture into class as Arab culture goes hand in hand with the language.
