In this course, you will listen to authentic Arabic podcasts from Jordan in the Shaamy (Levantine) dialect. Throughout 12 lessons, you will work on a total of four full podcast episodes, exploring them in depth rather than just listening once and moving on.
The goal of this course is not only to improve your listening skills, but also to help you actively use the language. You will analyse expressions, discuss opinions, and practise new vocabulary in contexts that are relevant to you. You will be expected to participate in discussions and complete creative tasks such as giving a presentation (e.g. with PowerPoint), creating a wall poster, or writing your own texts inspired by the topics.
This course is designed for learners at B2 level or higher, who already have a solid foundation in Arabic and want to deepen their understanding of spoken dialect, and work on their natural expression.
The podcast content is highly societal and discussion-based and includes topics such as: why learn Arabic?, refugees in Europe, daily routine as a mother, and many other engaging, real-life themes.
By the end of the course, you will feel more confident understanding authentic Shaamy Arabic and expressing your own ideas naturally and fluently.
