In May 2024 the National Dutch Opera will perform Il Trittico by Giacomo Puccini, a good occasion to dedicate an evening to the world of Italian opera and more specifically: the work of Puccini.
Join Elena in this workshop, that combines Italian language and opera, as she guides you through the different works of Italian composer Giacomo Puccini. We will start with discovering the world of Puccini, discussing the context, some plots, characters, and, most importantly, the language of his masterpieces. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to practice your Italian while being immersed in beautiful pieces of Italian culture, listening to the different arie, watching videos, reading about the history, and talking about your preferences.
These are the main operas that will be discussed:
– La Bohème
– Tosca
– Il Trittico (Il tabarro, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi)
– Madame Butterfly
– Turandot
