Struggling with where to put the hamza (ء) or confused because Arabic/Shami words sometimes don’t sound the way they’re written? This 2-hour workshop will help you make sense of it.
You’ll learn how to correctly use the hamza in its different forms (أ، إ، ؤ، ئ), understand the difference between short and long vowels (a, i, u vs. ا، و، ي), and practise writing words that are often pronounced differently than they are spelled. Through short explanations, dictation exercises, and interactive practice, you’ll train yourself to write what you hear with more accuracy and confidence.
This workshop is designed for learners at A2 level and above who want to improve their Arabic writing skills, with a focus on both Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine elements.

This workshop is open to everyone and suitable for students who have completed A2. Learners with a higher level are also welcome if they can use a refresher. When you sign up for the workshop, please indicate in the comments whether you’re a Taalhuis student and your Arabic proficiency level, so that we can plan the lessons accordingly.
