The Taalhuis library - Taalhuis Amsterdam

The Taalhuis library

Taalhuis Amsterdam is located in a beautiful old school building. The classes take place on the first and second floors, and on the ground floor, there is space to drink coffee and tea and do homework. We are also in the process of setting up our own Taalhuis library. We are still in the start-up phase, which means that the library is open irregularly and is not yet complete. But if someone is there, you can already register and borrow books. Are you a student at Taalhuis Amsterdam? Then you can sign up for a one-year membership for free.

In the library, you can find books in the language you are learning. The collection offers books in Dutch, Italian, Farsi, Spanish, French, Catalan, Turkish, Arabic, Greek, English, and Hebrew – in short, in all the Taalhuis languages. With a book, you can expand your vocabulary in an enjoyable way or learn more about the culture. In the library, you will also find DVDs, children’s books, newspapers, and magazines.

Book donations to the Taalhuis library are very welcome! We gladly accept donations in one of the Taalhuis languages and are especially looking for children’s books, comics, and easy readers.

The library is run by a group of enthusiastic volunteers who all love languages. They are busy making the library a wonderful place. We will keep you updated on the progress, and once the library is fully finished, we will definitely let you know.

Since the library is not officially open yet, there are no fixed opening hours. But do feel free to stop by if you’re in the area to see if there’s a book that suits you!
