With a length of 16 km and a width of 4 km, Schiermonnikoog is the smallest inhabited Wadden island. The only village on the island is also called Schiermonnikoog.
From 12 to 15 April 2024 Taalhuis Amsterdam will travel to Schiermonnikoog, one the most unique spots of nature in the Netherlands, for an intensive weekend of Dutch language and culture!
We’ll organise 9 hours of Dutch lessons and you can spend your time on the island practicing with the locals. Of course we’ll also eat and explore the island together!
Information about the course:
– Friday: arrival and 1,5 hour Dutch class (17:30-19:00) and welcome dinner
– Saturday and Sunday: morning classes (10:00-13:00) and afternoon excursions
– Monday: 1,5 hour (08:30-09:30) breakfast class and check out

This weekend is open for all levels. After you’ve registered we’ll contact you for a level test or intake, then we’ll make small groups based on the different levels.

We will stay and have most lessons at the Aude Kolonyhus.

How to get there and where to stay:
Your trip to and from the island is not included. You can get there with a train, bus and boat. It’s a bit of a challenge, but definitely worth it! We’re happy to advise or maybe organise a carpool etc.
We’ll stay in the Aude Kolonyhus.

Price:
The price is €375,- and this includes the Dutch lessons, 3 nights, including breakfast (based on a shared bedroom)*, the welcome dinner and a rental bike.
