Come play in the magical world of languages! We offer language courses with different levels for toddlers, children of primary school age and teenagers. Joy in speaking and learning French is central in our courses. Our lessons for children aim to make children feel at ease and comfortable in a second or third language. This is why our children’s courses are fully taught in French. For children who speak (some) French at home, the lessons can provide a welcome support to parents who are raising their children bilingually (heritage speakers). (Most of) our lessons also welcome children who grow up in a home where French is not spoken, but are curious to learn a new language or for families who are planning to move abroad.
For whom are the classes?
In our toddler group (1-4 year olds), toddlers ánd their parents/caretakers will be singing songs, dancing, playing, reading books and doing crafts together all in French. This way children will absorb a lot of the language. This is an important first step when learning multiple languages. By enjoying this class together, the songs and words that are used during the lessons will easily find their way into your homes.
Our courses for preschoolers (4-6 year olds) are for children who joined primary school but have not yet learned how to read and write. Similar to our toddler groups, this course focuses on immersing in French by singing, dancing, playing, reading and crafting, all in French.
Our young learners’ courses are for any 6-9 year olds, ranging from beginners to intermediate French speakers. Our pre-A1 starters group introduces your child to the very beginnings of the French language. The A1 movers are our courses for children who already know some of the basics of French. In these courses, children will start to express themselves more by learning to give brief descriptions of people and objects, agreeing and disagreeing, responding to basic questions and telling simple stories about topics that are relevant and important to them. Our next and final level is the A2 flyers group. In these courses, children will obtain the building blocks necessary to become more confident and creative in using French.
Next to our regular groups for young learners, we also offer two groups for heritage speakers from the age 6-9 and 9-14. These courses are created specifically for French speaking children who have at least one parent/caretaker whose native language is French.
