Would you like to learn Hebrew? Then you also need to learn a new alphabet and learn how to read and write (yes, from right to left!). Or maybe you already speak (some) Hebrew, but you’ve never learnt how to read and write? This introductory reading and writing course is for anyone who wants to learn or refresh their knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet. You will be introduced to the Hebrew script and learn how to read and write the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
Throughout this weekend, you will also get a taste of the Ktav letters (hand written letters) and learn how to recognise words in different fonts and handwritings more easily. You will also learn how to read words and sentences without nikud (ניקוד), the diacritic marks that can be written in or next to the letters to represent vowels.
This alphabet weekend also serves as a good preparation for the Hebrew A1.1 summer immersion or one of the Hebrew courses starting in September.
