Are you planning to take the official Greek language exams (πιστοποίηση ελληνομάθειας)? Our teachers organize preparatory ‘practica’ to help you prepare.
In these workshops, we will simulate some activities and provide you with useful tips to confidently sit your International ΚΕΓ-exams Modern Greek. We focus on the most challenging parts of the exams and strategies on how best to approach the tests. The activities will be based on exam samples, and of course there will be room for questions and advice based on your individual needs.
Reading – Listening
In this 2.5-hour workshop, you will go through a simulation of the listening and reading exam. Through different tasks, you will practice your listening skills and sharpen your ear. You’ll also learn how to pay attention to the information you need to answer correctly.
The listening exam consists of 4 parts, description-image matching questions, multiple choice, true/false, and notes text.
In this practicum you will also practice reading and picking up the main information, while keeping an eye on your time management as requested in the exam.
The reading exam consists of true/false questions, linking/matching sentences and multiple choice questions.
Speaking – Writing
In this 2.5-hour workshop, you will go through a simulation of the writing and speaking exam. The writing assignments consist of 2 parts. An informal text or a description (about 80-100 words) and a slightly more formal text (approximately 80-100 words). In this practicum we will use some of these assignments and work on text structure, starting formulas and closing formulas. We will also give you some guidelines on time management and useful feedback.
In this workshop, you will also go through a simulation of the speaking exam, which consists of 3 parts: simple questions (name, home, school, family, etc.), short monologue in continuous speech, and role play between two examinees. During the practicum we will practice all of them, focusing on the main themes that can occur in the exam. Each student will get a chance to practice their speaking skills and to receive feedback.
