‘Nederland vandaag’ is geared towards students who want to be able to join the conversation of the day in the bar, at the coffee machine or at the next ‘kringverjaardag’. The lessons are inspired by current events and controversies in society, politics, and cultural life.
Together, we’ll analyze articles, videos, audio fragments and more to bring you up to speed on Dutch current affairs or trends in the Dutch media. By working on these topics, you’ll not only gain insights into Dutch culture but you’ll also reinforce relevant vocabulary and grammar, preparing you to take part in more challenging and complex conversations outside of the classroom.
This course requires an (almost) finished C1 level. Homework consists of reading articles, watching a documentary or news broadcast and occasionally preparing an essay/presentation/discussion.
The lessons are every other week. Course dates are: 06/05, 20/05, 03/06, 17/06, 01/07 & 15/07.
