Ella has been working at Taalhuis Amsterdam as a Dutch (and sometimes French) teacher since the beginning of 2021. She obtained her Masters in History at the University of Amsterdam and is a true francophile – a hobby that got out of hand and led her to study French as well. Over the past few years, Ella also taught Dutch courses at the University of Lille and other schools in France.

Ella loves swimming in open water, watching Nouvelle Vague films, cooking (although she will never be able to follow a recipe completely) and Dutch sayings. Her favourite Dutch expression is ‘met de deur in huis vallen’ (’to fall with the door into the house’). That means to go straight to the point, usually unexpected.
