Filiz is trained as a translator with a degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies. She moved to the Netherlands in 2020 with her husband. In 2022 she followed a training at Bahçeşehir University (Istanbul) to become a Turkish (second) language teacher and joined the Taalhuis team. Aside from teaching Turkish, Filiz also coordinates events and open days at Taalhuis.

When Filiz is not doing language related things, she likes watching movies, particularly Scandinavian and Iranian cinema, needle painting, and cooking. She also loves cats and has been volunteering for stray and shelter animals for more than ten years now.
