About Ancient Languages – Gothic

The Gothic language came from ‘the Barbarians’, the people who plundered Rome in 410 AD.  But besides this it’s the oldest language of the Germanic language family that was ever found. It is preserved in biblical manuscripts and inscriptions of late antiquity and early Middle ages and it gives us some unique insights in the history of Dutch, English, Frisian and Scandinavian.
