Shavuot: Jewish culture workshop

Jewish culture workshop: Shavuot

According to the Kabbalah, an esoteric school of thought in Jewish mysticism, Shavuot is the holiday where we need to do tikun olam – in simple words: making the world a better place, like donating food or money to poor people (also known as tzedakah).

In this workshop we will learn about the meaning of tikun olam and see how we can put it into practice today. We will also taste some traditional food – normally dairy products, but we will do it the vegan way – and learn relevant Hebrew words.

Did you know a lot of words from Amsterdam have Hebrew roots?
