This short course is designed for complete beginners who want to learn how to read and write Arabic from the very beginning, but also for students who already speak (a bit of) Arabic, but have never learned to read and write.

You will learn the Arabic alphabet (all 28 letters), letter forms, pronunciation, reading rules, and basic writing skills in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA / FuS7a). By the end of the course, you’ll be able to read and write simple words and sentences independently.

During the course, you will learn:

All Arabic letters and their different forms (initial, medial, final, isolated)
Reading Arabic words, sentences and short texts
Writing letters, words, and simple sentences
Connecting letters correctly
Pronunciation
Short vowels and basic reading rules

Students with no knowledge as well as students who speak Arabic are welcome to join this course. The focus is on literacy, but of course your teacher will also speak basic Arabic with you.. You will receive weekly homework assignments to practise reading and writing between lessons.
