In this course, you will continue to develop your Egyptian-Arabic learning skills, so that you reach level A1 of the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages” upon completion. You’ll dive deeper into Egyptian-Arabic grammar and learn how to use the present (bi-imperfect) and future tense (ha-imperfect) of the verb. At the same time you will expand your vocabulary so that you can tell time, and describe your hobbies and routine. During the course you will read all dialogues in Arabic script.
The course is very practical in nature and active participation is encouraged and required of the student. While you practice all your language skills during class, special emphasis is put on developing students’ communication and interaction skills to deal with real-life situations.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Describe your hobbies and routine
Ask, understand and give directions
Use a solid basic vocabulary of around 750 words
Write a simple paragraph in Arabic and read a short text on a topic that is familiar to you
Homework consists of different assignments to practice all four skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading). On average, you spend around 3 hours per week on homework.
