In this six-part course, you’ll dive into the world of Takh, an Egyptian band that puts young Egyptians’ concerns into words in a satirical and humorous manner. Their songs are not only funny and sharp-witted, but also visual – each song is like a mini-story with a beginning, a middle and an end, creating a vivid image of the scenes.
The course covers three songs in total, spending two lessons per song:
🎶 Lesson 1: The songtext – learn new grammatical structures and vocabulary in context.
🎶 Lesson 2: The theme – dive deeper into the social and cultural message behind the song.
Through the combination of language, humour and music, you’ll improve your reading, listening and speaking skills, while simultaneously getting a unique glimpse into young Egyptian people’s everyday lives and thoughts.
