This playful and dynamic course for children has the main goal to increase the students’ vocabulary in Italian. The predominant teaching methodology will be that of storytelling, at a simplified and oral level. Children will listen to and create stories that will be used as the basis for the lessons, with dynamic, theatrical and musical activities that will help children learn through movement, repetition and songs. A special place during the lessons will be reserved to everything that is directly linked to Italy, its history, legends and authors, and a couple of lessons will be devoted entirely to “epos”.
A class book will be used as a reference (Girotondo 1, Guerra edizioni), but lots of original materials will also be provided. The I Libri Volanti library, born 5 years ago and consisting of about 1070 books, almost all dedicated to children, will provide part of it. The children’s different levels of Italian and personal attitudes will guide the teacher, Elena Crescenzo, on how to personalise the learning path for each individual student.
