Are you interested in learning a new language? Would you like the opportunity to meet our teachers, learn more about our school and language courses, and experience a trial lesson before making a decision? We invite you to join us for our open day and borrel on Saturday, 29 March at Gerard Doustraat 220.
During the open day, you’ll have the chance to join trial lessons for various Taalhuis languages and attend intake sessions to determine your level and needs before signing up for a course. It’s a perfect opportunity to explore your language learning options. While trial lessons take place in the classrooms, we will have a borrel in our café, where you can enjoy your drinks and bites, take a look at our language-themed merchandise, and chit-chat with other students and teachers!
Trial lessons and intake sessions are completely free and you can join as many sessions as you want as long as you reserve your spot in advance.

FAQ
How can I register for a trial lesson or an intake?
Please fill in the registration form with the required information. You will receive the confirmation for each session you signed up for via email the week before the open day.
What is an intake?
An intake is a short appointment with one of our teachers to decide which course or what type of lessons (private or group) would be the most appropriate for your level and needs. Unlike a level assessment, you will not take a comprehensive test or get a certificate.
I can’t make it to the open day, when is the next one?
If you cannot make it to our on-location open day, you are very welcome to join us on Friday, 4 April for a virtual learning experience. Check out this page for the online open evening schedule and fill in the registration form to sign up for a trial lesson or an intake.
I am a student at Taalhuis, can I still join?
Of course! The open day is open for everyone and we’re happy to welcome our students too. If you want to enroll in a course but are not sure about your level, you can have an intake or join trial lessons to have a sneak peek of the courses you want to join. You can also just come by to catch up, say hi, and chat with our teachers and other students while you’re enjoying your drinks during our borrel.
Can I schedule a level assessment for another time?
Yes! Please email us at info@taalhuisamsterdam.nl and we will contact you to make an appointment. The intake session will take approximately 15-20 minutes and will be on location or online (via Zoom).
I have another question.
Email us at info@taalhuisamsterdam.nl and we will respond as soon as possible.
